Day 11

For some reason yesterday's medal count didn't ever publish. Here is your daily medal count and Canadian update. Overall medal count: USA, China, Russia. Canada gained two medals today, a gold and silver. They also lost a medal in one event (I'll explain that in a bit). Lori-Ann Muenzer won Canada's first ever indoor cycling gold medal beating a Russian in a best of three race. Alexandre Despatie pulled it out on his final dive to grab the silver medal in the 3m springboard event in Athens. In other news Canada's Perdita Felicien, a one hundred meter hurdler, fell at the start of her race. She was the favorite to win the race. More on this story and all of these at cbc.ca/olympics.
On another note, I feel sorry for United States gymnast Paul Hamm. He's facing a lot of pressure to give up his All-Around gold medal because of a judging error. Keep it Paul, they can give out two, it's been done before.
